Bieber fever gives Seven breakfast and morning wins

Ten’s Masterchef last night maintained its dominance a week after it launched, although among the morning programs Seven’s The Morning Demonstrate pushed ahead of Nine’s These days inside the ratings.

Sunrise, which hit the headlines yesterday for the teenage hysteria caused by guest Justin Bieber, led from the breakfast ratings in every single principal metro market, with an average audience of 428,000, compared to Nine’s Nowadays with 288,000.

The Morning Display, which followed Sunrise at 9am, also beat Currently, with 328,000 tuning in, according to preliminary overnight Oztam data inside the principal metro markets.

It also beat Nine’s Kerri-Anne in the same time slot, with the latter attracting only 164,000 viewers during the Anzac Day public holiday.

Sunrise was forced to cancel a performance by Bieber at Sydney Harbour yesterday following safety concerns over crowd numbers. Bieber later performed a song at the Sunrise studio.

Meanwhile, on Sunday night Nine’s Underbelly remained the most-watched present with 1.5m viewers. However, this was down from the 1.9m it attracted the previous week.     - Source
